• Try the sound in English but have subtitles in your language

1. Watching a movie with sound turned up and subtitles in your language
Movies are sometimes hard to know what is going on if you do not have any subtitles. You can then get bored or distracted and miss the point of doing this excesise.
Doing it this way enables you to understand with your eyes as you read what is happening as your ears listen to the language and pronunciation.
This is a pretty advanced technique and would be good to do if you are already at one of the language schools in Bournemouth.
2. Watching a movie with sound in your own language and have subtitles in English.
This again is quite difficult but a great excersise as you are watching and enjoying the film but reading what is being translated. You will often notice that things do not translate well and they are changed to keep the flow of the film. This will help you to see that the flow of the language is more important as opposed to translating every word. We here move to interpretation rather than just translation.

3. Watching a movie in English with subtitles in English too
A lot of people would find tyhis pointless and if your English is not at that level yet you will quickly get lost.However this is an excellent way to concentrate on the film and train your brain to think in English too.
